From the left edge of the alcove, move up & a bit right onto the brick red face. This section has lots of small features, some are positive. Continue up to the notch. Move up & right through the bulge. Easier climbing leads to the chains on the double bolt anchor.

From the anchor, it's easy to reach the second pitch of Tortoise Scute.

Start at the left end of the small overhang, just at the beginning of the ramp to Yellow Dog. First Armadillo is 10 feet right of Tortoise Scute.

9 bolts.

This is a fun route, but it is just barely 5.8 in difficulty. There may be one 5.8 move, but there are not multiple 5.8 moves.

Did this route, again and I am sure that it is barely 5.8. It is a good route though.

Super fun, soft for the grade, a great, solid lead for newer leaders. When the location info says it's "just at the beginning of the ramp to Yellow Dog", I think they mean the path down to the lower tier where P0 of Yellow Dog Dingo starts. First Armadillo, along with Tortoise Scute and Bicolored Python, is just to the right of the 4th class vertical notch that you scramble to get to the main belay ramp where most of the Other Critters routes start.

Very fun lead, solid the whole way up.

NOTE: this route shares an anchor with Bicolored Python. The area between the bolt line is a fun TR but crumbly rock.
