  • Description

Another rock in the third stratum of Dinosaur Mountain. This rock is located uphill from Stonehenge and downhill from Fi. It is a "tooth-like Flatiron" just west of Der Freischutz. Descent is a short downclimb the northern edge of this rock.

    Getting There

You can reach this rock via a hike up from Bear Canyon or down from the upper end of the Mallory Cave Trail (past Mallory Cave). From NCAR, hike to Bear Canyon, go uphill past Southern Dinosaur Egg and up just east of Stonehenge. Or, hike up the Mallory Cave Trail, past the cave, into the gully with switchbacks between the Finger Flatiron and The Box. Reach the crest between the 2nd and 3rd strata and then descend with some scrambling into this gully. Go down past Fo, Fi, and find Fee.

Find the nadir of a nice looking slab of Fee.P1. Pleasant but slightly loose face climbing on the left side provides more protection than the cleaner middle of the face. 180 feet brings you to a slot to belay (save bigger pro for belay anchor).P2. Ascend a clean low angle rou...[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
