This area offers a collection of multi-pitch climbs that start from the almost-bottom of the canyon. The rock is high quality limestone with a few spots of vegetation. There are two stellar moderate climbs here so the possibility of crowding exists.

Getting There

There is a gravel parking area 6.2km from town on the left, following D23 counter clockwise. The approach trail into the canyon is marked back up the street by a cairn and a red dash of paint. If you follow the red paint and trail correctly it will lead you to a bright orange rope that will allow you to ascend into the canyon close to the climbing. If you happen to miss the trail and continue down there are two trees laced with slings you can rap off of which lead to another set of rap trees. On the third rap you should see to well spaced bolts that you can rap off of to the semi bottom of the gorge. Looking out at the river, you can head left and this should take you to the climbs where are written on the rock in paint.

This is a classic 9 pitch moderate in the Verdon Gorge. The crux (5.10c) appears on the second pitch going through an off-width squeeze. The area around the off-width is quite polished limiting any face climbing options. The remaining pitches are easier and are full of amazing jugs and bomber feet. Euro grades: 1-5c, 2-6a+, 3-3, 4-5a, 5-4a, 6-5c, 7-4c, 8-5c, 9-5a. The climb is around 200m total and will bring you right back up to your car....[more]   Browse More Classics in International
