BETA PHOTO: Overview of Ernst Tinaja Canyon

A narrow canyon offering surprisingly high quality limestone bouldering. It is a popular tourist and geology destination so there may be crowds but not for the climbing.

There is still plenty of room for establishment here. I tried and failed on a few doable projects that are just ripe for the picking. Enjoy!

Getting There

Head toward Ernst Tinaja via the Old Ore Road for about 5 miles. Look for the Ernst Tinaja sign and park in a good sized dirt lot. Hike in the canyon past the large water hole (Tinaja) and locate a stand alone boulder with many great climbs. The drive up Ore Road requires a high-clearance and/or 4WD vehicle and may be impassable after rain. Bring plenty of water because there is no water source here.
