Description Suggest change

This is a small, free-standing spire in the middle of the Crags area on the West slopes of Twin Sisters, just South of Estes Park, off CO Hwy 7, across from Lily Lake. It does carry another less-conservative name of Enos Mills' Last Erection. While not a destination crag, it can enhance your day if you are of the type who enjoys climbing spires. It is perhaps, only 30-40 feet in height, depending on your starting point. You can choose between the North & South cracks.

It can be hard to spot this crag until you are nearly upon it. It lies just below the Gray Slab, just North of Crosswinds, just South of Sharksfin/Pinpoint, just uphill & South from Woodstone, a ways to the N of Lower Great Face, and down & North from the Upper Great Face.

You can downclimb or rappel off a slung, decent-sized block on the summit.

Getting There Suggest change

There are 2 approaches for this crag. Neither is a trail. It is best to get a bearing before you enter the forest. Both take about and hour. The first is from the Twin Sisters' trailhead. This lies off CO Hwy 7, S of Estes Park, just across from Lily Lake. Go E, past the Lily Lake Visitors Center & find the trailhead. Go up the trail about half a mile to the third switchback & head uphill & slightly N. When you break into the clear, you must reorient yourself to find this crag/spire. The second approach is along the road just past the Baldpate Inn. Signage along this road makes this approach more questionable. This is the old Hwy 7. You hike along the road a short way and then head uphill. You must reorient yourself once you break into the clear.
