Description
Tall more broken wall on the east end of the mountain. Sports some hard lines into the 5.13 range and a couple of good 5.11's. Many easy 2 pitch lines would be possible for those looking to pioneer some new terrain. The main area, which is a dihedral/buttress, faces southwest.
Emla wall is the right side of the "book" that forms the Cookbook area. The rock on Emla Wall has cleaned up well, and features phenomenal climbing, with several 5 star routes with wild, powerful climbing that isn't often found. Well worth doing all of these routes, even if 5.10b isn't normally something you bother with!
This cliff is absolutely worth the hike in, don't miss out!
Getting There
Follow the climbers trail from the cut-off to the left about 100' past House Rock on Cooks Wall Trail (see GPS trail on map for exact trail).
Follow this faint climbers trail as it drops down to the cliff line past a few smaller 50' cliffs and keep going until you are looking up at the amazing, steep and intimidating Cookbook area. Emla Wall starts on the initial spine on the right, and the steep overhang around the left corner is the main Emla Wall.
