Eldorado Canyon State Park has changed its policies about climbing closures due to raptor nesting. In past years, we've done pre-emptive closures - climbs near old nests are closed until there's no chance of raptors re-using the nest for the season. This year, the park has gone to an adaptive approach. Climbs will remain open until there is evidence of raptor nesting. Long story short: The Naked Edge, Diving Board, and the like will remain open until such time as raptors try to nest in the area. If this works for ya, make sure and thank the park rangers (Ben, Steve, Jess) for pushing through a sensible policy. See you out there.

Thanks to the park staff for the continued support. Eldo has become very climber policy friendly. We'll do our best to de the same in return for the park and the birds!

Great news! Now, would someone please convince OSMP to follow a similar policy?

That's awesome, thanks Eldo rangers! +1 for OSMP, the Flatirons could really use a more sensible policy around this as well.

Behold, my superpower to misunderstand very kind words from my climbing heroes. Sorry Mic, I'll work on getting my panties untwisted.
