There are two access points for ice climbing near the Cathedral Rock Parking Lot.

One is Cathedral Rock trailhead.

Another is Group Picnic Area #1. To approach climbs from this area walk beyond the small lot to a right hand turn a few hundred yards away. Walk up this road to the Group Picnic Area and the start of the South Loop Trail.

Getting There 

To reach the Cathedral trailhead, continue driving on 157 until 21.1 miles from I-95. Do not take Echo Road towards the Mary Jane Parking Lot.

Third pitch is the best, the ice does not always touch down.Check conditions from second pullout on Deer Creek Road (the one under Mom's Cave) using binos or spotting scope.
