Description

Straight up the center of the rock formation is about a 5.7. If you start to go towards the left of right, becomes an easy 5.6. If you're up for more of a challenge, you can try going up the right to the ridge to the right of the face (not in the guidebook) -- approximately 5.10a/b. :)

I am confused by the name of this route. The Northern Formation has two faces. One face faces almost directly south, and the other face faces almost directly east. Based on the "L-R" and route description, this route appears to be on the face that faces east. Am I missing something? If not, I think it should be renamed to reflect the actual face it is on.

I agree with the above comment...provided we are all (the submitter, the above climber and I) talking about the same climb. This is the climb, clearly on the East face, with a crux section of polished rock in the middle. Taking the left side of the polished rock I thought about 5.6, directly up the middle-right of the polished rock I thought was about 5.7.
