The Wave is a south-facing crag and mostly overhanging. It gets good shade in the mornings and has a nice view across to Red Tail and Skaha Lake. It contains some high quality overhung 5.12 sport climbs with a couple 5.11 climbs thrown in the mix. The highest-travelled routes can be popular during busy days, but you'll find something available if you climb 5.11/5.12.

Getting There

There are two main ways to get to The Wave. The first may be a bit easier if you're coming directly from the parking lot.

1) Take the trail just below the upper parking lot. After 5-10 minutes, you'll pass Daycare and Daycare Quickies with their short, easy climbs. Shortly after passing these crags, continue straight past the sign for Diamondback. After a few more minutes, you'll hit a series bunch of forks in the trail. Take a hard left and walk the uphill path to find overhanging rock of The Wave on your right.

2) Take the main trail from the lower parking lot past The Fortress. Stay on the path for Lower Redtail or Another Buttress, then take a sharp right on the trail that goes up the right side of the canyon into rocky terrain. After an uphill hike, you'll see the overhanging rock of The Wave on your left.
