A lowball with several good dynamic routes along the main face. Theres a nice arête, as well as a few possible routes on the “back”, with the last face (closest to the wall) providing a nice way to climb down. A traverse of the main face is also possible. The rock contains several nice crystal pockets, and slopers and ledges around the top.

Getting There

Park at the gravel lot before main lookout. Go west, along the south side of the road, a trail angles southwest down the hill. Turn right at the intersection and head over to the quarry floor. The boulder is fairly obvious, between the main trail and the cliffs, just in front of the Mushroom Wall.

Another dyno, but this time with a little more work on the set up for the jump. In this problem the left hand starts in the pocket for the right hand on Illuminati Dynosaurs, and the right works up the arête before the dyno....[more]   Browse More Classics in Wisconsin

Hey Ethan, thanks for posting this boulder! When I first started climbing in high school we would climb all over this boulder-that was almost 20 years ago. We did all the variations possible and even had a v5ish traverse across it. Happy climbing!

Thanks Remo! I figured it must have been climbed plenty before, after all it's only about 50 yards from bolted routes. I'm pretty new to the site, and trying to put up more bouldering in the area. I believe there are still under 10 bouldering routes listed on grandads, and I know that there's so much more there in reality. I'd like to get better pictures of other faces of this boulder, and would encourage anyone else to post routes on it as well.
