Do-it-yourself Climbing Harness

Thoughts? |

Nope nope nope. I'd rather spend the money and use something that's been manufactured specifically to save my life, instead of tying together a bunch of para-cord. |

It's creative I'll give him that. But personally if I'm without a harness I'd rather just tie a swiss seat than try something like that |

It's art! |

There are better much better alternatives for emergency harnesses. |

Looks fine to me except for joining the two ends with a square knot. Not very practical though. |

It looks super cool, but if your down on your luck just tie a Swiss harness. |

Funny that some people on that thread comment that it would be great for an emergency... but wouldn't it take, like, a day to tie that thing? I guess it depends on how dire the emergency is... Reminds me of the video someone posted a few weeks ago about making your own rappel setup & harness, then used it to rap off a bridge.Uh, that kid in the bridge video is gonna die. The limit of his knowledge and his meager sewing talent will see to that. |

You can always make a harness out of some slings but you will have your circulation cut off by the time your done depending on how big the webbing is. |

An interesting DIY website, some people really get off on creating things themselves. Even if in the end what they come up with just barely works, and if you add in the time spent working on it, they likely could have just bought what they needed. |

Here's another good one. instructables.com/id/Climb-… |

I've noticed that most of the stuff on that website is useless shit that no one needs anyway... |
