DIY Gear Sling

A water knot ties the webbing into a loop. Then without cutting off the extra length of webbing, clove hitches are tied to make the gear loops, two double fisherman's to finish. Nylon tape wrapped around the loops make them a little more manageable.

Total cost… 15 cents a foot. Feast your eyes on the wonderment. Notice the subtle tones of...ugly.

The 4 loop sling is a little long but I should be able to adjust it. It's no Metolius or Trango but it works just fine. A few people have seen it's use… i believe the comments are always along the lines of "holy crap did you make that from an old seat belt?" Yes. Yes I did.

find your mom's sewing machine (if she has one) and learn how to do a box stitch or basic zig zag...and for the love of god do not make any true weight bearing pieces. Flat webbing and tubular webbing can be readily stitched on a cheap machine with a fresh needle and patience. Or just hand stitch

The three loop sling is hand stitched. I made the four loop just see if I could do it with only webbing.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
