BETA PHOTO: The Dirty Dozen Area as seen from the Black Wave A...

Description

The Dirty Dozen is a small set of boulders that sits at an elevation of 5,700 feet and is located between Area 51 and Black Wave. The rock quality is generally solid, the approaches are short, and the landings are mostly flat and clear.

The area shades well in the mornings, but it receives plenty of sun in the afternoon. Some of the meadows that access these boulders are filled with cactus.

Getting There

The parking area, which can support about 4 vehicles, is located 6.6 miles from the CO Highway 141/U.S. 50 intersection on the road right. Boulders are located on both sides of the highway.
