Description

A very small area. A thin 'slot' of basalt almost impossible to see if you do not know where to look. 40' tall, 10'wide. There are 4 established lines (toprope) and numerous alternates. Stays cool for a good part of the day, a good option when the sun baked walls outside are too greasy to climb. Periodically there are anchors at the top, but as of 5/2015 they have been removed again. THE PARK REMOVES ANY PERMANENT ANCHORS, and if people keep breaking park rules (no bolts) they have threatened to restrict climbing. PLEASE respect park rules.

Getting There

Between Salmon Hole and Brown's Hole, a pullout on the right side of the road is less than 20' from the top. The wall is approximately 80' above the Creek.

This would get 4 stars if it were longer and leadable. Start 3' right of the Cheaters corner, without using the large block for feet. Move up and tending right, ending on the top of Devil's Classic b. The bottom is the crux, tricky hands....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
