Description

NOTE: this is the farthest we climbers have been "permitted" to go. I have spoke with one of the folks who is an "authority" over the property, and they are awesome. Just be respectful and don't venture too far past the rocky divide. You can tell you are there when looking down from the top/ where the road is above the climbing area, you will see what looks like a rock line. It is in fact a line. Let's respect that thing.

Getting There

From the main area, head up and start making your way left. You are aiming for left of all the other TR climbs. Keep going until you are feeling like there is nothing left, then go a little farther and POOF! An area that's new? No, but to MP, yes! The rocks in this area have seen a lot of hands, so it is hard to say what is what with ascents. You'll see the new, big'n "Dead Goose."

Dead Goose V3-4 6A+ PG13  Colorado : Grand Junction Area : ... : Dead Goose Divide
Start in the pit (where we first found the dead goose) and make your way up and into the roof. The roof is VERY overhung, but the holds are there (just be easy with those hollow sounding ones, those are ticking time bombs, and when they blow, this will be a V8 or 9, plus you'll be hurting). You will see the line and the possible variations for short or tall people immediately. Make your way to the edge of the roof. At this point, your head is below your feet a bit, so hurry through those heel hoo...[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
