BETA PHOTO: Can Baba: The Main Sector
Awesome hard sport climbing on the peninsula that separates the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. Datça has higher quality rock than Geyikbayırı and a greener landscape than Kalymnos. There are a dozen sectors, but most of the climbing is in and around the Can Baba cave.
Bolting started in 2012, so the 300 or so bolted routes aren't polished. The peninsula is known for its wind, which keeps the temps cool. Fall is the best season, but early winter and late spring are also fantastic.
From the city center of Datça, drive east towards Reşadiye and turn left (inland) towards Knidos. Stay left at the fork and continue past the sign for Yeşil Bahçe. As the road gets steeper, there's a restaurant on the left. Turn left on the dirt road just past (uphill) the restaurant. Turn right when the picnic area (aka a pine tree orchard) appears on your left. Drive 2 min and park 500m after you cross the dry riverbed. Can Baba is a 10 min walk uphill to your right.
