Stone quality similar to Mary's Bust, the Oklahoma Slab is South-facing on the far WEST end, and receives sun in the winter until about 3pm. The East Face gets some a.m. sun and should stay cool in the summer. High enough to avoid some of the road/river noise.

Getting There

Park on the NORTH side of the road 9.3 miles west of the B.S.T. in a dirt pullout after a wide shoulder. Right between Mary's Bust and The Unknown Ridge. Stomp up the wash keeping right (faint trail), until you are about even with the East Face. Start heading up and right. To reach The Oklahoma Slab, hike around the base, looking for a big pine at the low point of the slab.

Around 20 minutes uphill, 25 minutes to OK Slab.

Lucky for him, he was "eating at Casa Bonita" during the storm. Daryle was found alive and well in Oklahoma, by a journalist researching the victims for a story 25 years after the disaster.
