Description

Please practice Leave No Trace principles at all times here, keep it clean.

Camping is FREE!!! and is a first come-first serve CA state campground. There is a pot toilet with paper (surprisingly clean on a regular basis), no running water in the campground, and no fire pits or table. Bring your own portable fire pit if you want a fire at night. Come stay a night and climb around the campground or head across the road to climb on some of the classics of Culp Valley in windy boulders and cottonwood camp.

On the East ridge of the Culp Valley Primitive Campground there are beautiful views and even greater boulders. Views of the Borrego Springs Valley to the east and mountain views to the west. Huge boulder field right off the campground. Amazing place! Please add more routes that you have done or find while you are out there.

Nearby attractions consist of Hellhole preserve, Salton sea, Slot Canyons, Wind Caves, and off roading.

Getting There

Park in northeast part of the campground by the sign to the trail. Take Culp Valley Trail that heads east to the look out point to its first left turn. Continue going up right/east on a small foot trail that takes you right into the CVPC East Side bouldering field. Climbs are right over the ridge line. Enjoy
