Èrni kal is a nice crag above the village of Èrni kal on the edge of carst and extremely close to Osp/Mija peè.
Most commonly reached by vehicle or motorbike, though it can also be reached by the bus that runs between Koper and Ljublijana with one stop in the lower part of the village and one stop 1km higher near the cliffs.
From the motorway, park at the end of the field past the small building and hike down the road. The road leading down to the next parking lot is steep and rough, so, consider parking up top. The tower has a flag (usually) flying from it and the remains of an 11th-century castle. At the parking lot directly below the tower, take the well-travelled trail straight up to the tower. This will take you to the Za Stolpom section.
If coming from the town of Crni Kal (very much NOT recommended as the locals do NOT appreciate tourist traffic through their town!), take the split in the road below the crag to the left and climb up the steep road to the parking lot below the Turkish tower.

Crni Kal was by far the best limestone we climbed in Slovenia. The routes are superb here and the area of Istria is elegant. Highly recommended to stay in Isola. Take a trip to Piran as well.

Just to add a few things about Črni Kal. It's easily reached by the bus that runs between Koper and Ljubljana, with one stop in the lower part of the village and one stop 1km higher near the cliffs. However, Črni Kal itself has no accomodation. We stayed in Predloka (walking distance to the climbing) and had a great experience where we stayed. (prenocitvepodkraskimrobom.si/e....
Thought the climbing at Črni Kal was good but not mind blowing. The climbers left side had better rock but shorter routes. The right is a bit looser and longer but has some good stuff.
