North Face Cracks solid corner.

Description

A great broken near vertical face sporting a left side roof finish of only moderate difficulty and a right side roof finish of extreme difficulty. Its overall height is approximately forty-five (45) vertical feet.

This crag got its name from the western pine tree growing out of the rocks halfway up the wall.

Getting There

From the base of the main formations (Jim’s Wall and Pillar #2), follow the trail to the left (north) around Jim’s Wall, past Angulation Wall, continue on past Glen’s Roof Wall across into the scree field at the base of Craggy Pines Area.

Start around the middle of the wall at the obvious off width crack. Climb straight up through the large off width crack to the bottom of an overhang, pull the overhang on its right side. Good holds if your sequence is right, if not it could be a scary roof....[more]   Browse More Classics in Pennsylvania
