Description

This is the largest visible boulder south of the parking area. It should be pretty secluded even though it's near the road. The quality varies, but this has potential for more than one problem.

Getting There

Park in the lot and hike for 5 minutes south. There's a faint spur trail that will take you right to it.

Climbing Season

For the Nine Mile Hill area.

Weather station 14.5 miles from here

Unexplained Phenomena SDS V4 6B  Colorado : Grand Junction Area : ... : Coverup Block
Unexplained Phenomena climbs a suspended, slightly overhung arete via thuggish, compression movement. Sit start with a left hand edge above the jug and a right hand on the arete. From there, bump the right hand up to an undercling/sidepull on the arete, move out to a left hand sidepull, then slap a right hand to a sidepull-thumb catch on the arete, reach a sloping left hand gaston pinch, gain the edges above, deadpoint to the lip, and mantle on top....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
