BETA PHOTO: Columbine Arete may be a little harder than it loo...

Description

This great little route is a gem for the area. It is one of the more sustained lines around. Easy climbing past a couple of bolts leads to the first crux. Hard crimping or a dyno leads to a mini-jug. From the jug, do some intersting slab moves with little in the way of feet. Once you mantle up the slab, pull a rooflet on dirty rock to the anchor.

Location

This is located on the first wall from the trail, just left of the rightmost 5.9. Look for the columbine flowers:)

Protection

QDs + 2 bolt anchor.

This is not a 5.10 unless you cut out far right to the jugs on the right side of the arete, staying on route keeps this climb real.

Originally graded as 5.10c if climbed direct with out the left side back step to the flake or the jugs to the right.
