Description

This small crag is on the back side of a roadside boulder, giving it about a 10 second approach. Not the most aesthetic or solid, but it's great if you only have a few minutes and want to get a climb in.

Getting There

Park in the pullout at milepoint 15.1, on the north side of the road, and walk around to the NW side of the obvious feature.

Climbing Season

For the 5 - Windy Ridge area.

The physical crux is low, just off the ground as you work your way into the crack system. The mental crux is definitely clipping the chain at the top. Work a ledge system in from the left to get to the finger crack, which starts about 12 feet up. Be wary of a few questionable rock chunks up high. There is a plethora of possibilities for climbs here, and at least one anchor on top....[more]   Browse More Classics in Arizona
