Description Suggest change

You've made the difficult approach to Sky Top Buttress, up the scree field and loose trail. While you're up here, this is a short climb worth doing afterwards, or while waiting for the route.

Frank Madden's book has this at 5.8, though it felt a bit stiff for the grade. I found the crux to be the top, just before the anchor. Lots of sharp plants on this wall provide extra motivation to do it clean..

You can use the same anchor to top rope 'El Tiacuache' (5.10a) just to the left, though beware of potential for a nasty swing and a face full of cactus if can't do it clean..

Location Suggest change

The same approach as for Sky Top Buttress. A short trail branches off left, above the scree field, just a little ways down from the base of Sky Top Buttress.

Note that this is a separate approach from the beginning of El Mirador, along with any other routes to the right of Libertad. If you're there you'll have to come down to the swimming pool complex, and come back up the stairs to the far right, which leads to a loose trail on the right side of the scree slope.

Protection Suggest change

5 bolts. Spring clips for the anchor.
