Carrie on the bottom half of the route.

Description

Mostly moderate fun face climbing to a thin crux up high. The rock quality deteriorates slightly near the top of the route but its still well worth doing.

Location

Just left of "Lizard the Wizard".

Protection

12 bolts to a two bolt anchor.

fun movement, real crimpy, thinky, some breakage but nothing terrible. partner and i both found the crux far more challenging than any part of the .10d pitch of black widow. given the island's general resort grading, didn't think the rating fell in line.

but it was super fun! (and the .10c would definitely be closer if it were a sport climb in the southeast--though i'd still give it a d for the crux).

This is not 10c and it certainly isn't 10d. I think it is hardly 5.10a and that isn't sandbagging it. My wife climbed it after me and said said she thought it was 5.9. Its mostly 5.9 except for the steeper thin moves up high with a couple flakes and small pocket to pull on but even that isn't 10c if you get your footwork right. It might feel harder for those not used to climbing slabby routes. At first I thought we were confused and maybe climbed the 5.9 next to it by mistake but after double checking I'm sure we were on the right route. Just my two cents, its a fun climb no matter what the grade is.
