I was under the impression that Chouinard's Crack was the offwidth (to squeeze chimney) not the hand crack?

FA: Yvon Chouinard! Hence the name.

The "hand crack" that is Chouinard's Crack is more like a fist crack/offwidth (~4camalot). There are many face holds that offwidth technique isn't require, but this crack makes for good offwidth practice if you force yourself to strictly jam. Chouinard's Chimney is a wider offwidth up the hill.
