Childbirth (Area at Arthur's Rock) Rock Climbing
This beauty deserves a better photo. Ryan eyeing ...
This is a small zone, but it has a handful of good problems and the area's best line, Childbirth
. This zone lies next to the main hiking trail to Arthur's Rock, so expect the inevitable questions about your pads.
Hike up the Arthur's Rock trail PAST the bouldering access trail, perhaps 20 minutes. After the main switch backs head back to the east below the south facing walls of Arthur's, look for one last switchback. You will be staring up at Childbirth which slashes through the overhang and up the arete. The even larger, pyramid-shaped Valhalla Boulder is just slightly uphill. You will also find the Gremlin Boulder just behind Childbirth, and the Sicker Boulder up and behind the Valhalla Boulder.

This is an excellent route, that, if it were in BC, would have been bolted years ago. As it is, it is a very worthy...[more] Browse More Classics in Colorado

Lory State Park has some issues with climber activity at this boulder:
1) Always clean up your tick marks before you leave.
2) Never damage/alter the landscape/resources.
The NCCC just completed a permanent landing solution:
Please do not make landings out of logs at this boulder.
