Does anyone have suggestions for crags with cell service in the Front Range (say within 1.5 hour drive of Denver)? I know we all enjoy getting away from cell phones when we climb but that's not always an option for me unfortunately.
Below is my experience but I'm looking for some input...
Boulder Canyon - terrible service Clear Creek - spotty service Eldo - pretty good service depending on the area RMNP/Estes - generally no service but not a lot of experience outside the park South Platte - I can't recall but the area is so large it's probably hard to quantify generically Staunton - ??
Boulder Canyon - Only crags with service are at the very bottom (the dome) and the very top (Sport park, and possibly Castle Rock if you're 1-2 pitches up)
RMNP - Perfect 4G service all the way up Hallets, but I've never found any other areas with service.
Verizon is your best provider 99% of the time, but any place you are climbing in the front range is going to be REALLY spotty.
That being said climb in the flatirons. There's cragging there, and great cell service.

Often you can sneak a text in even when service is low. That being said I've noticed that since I have 4G LTE, when I'm on 3G my service SUCKS. I mean even with like 2-3 bars it's crappy.
I don't know much about how their signals work, but man my phone goes to sh*t as soon as I'm off LTE.
