Cathey's Creek question

Hi gang-

Cathey's looks mostly high-end, on the difficulty level. Can any of the climbs be top-roped? I don't mean after it is led.... I'm talking the cheater way: Walk to the top and drop a line.

Thanks for any beta.

Russ

The Mike Reardon book, Cedar Rock and Satelite Crags, has a chapter on Cathey's Creek. It does not call out any top rope set ups.

Catheys corner and shattered glass can be accessed easily, with some more work you could set up crown royale. Also you could lead the 5.7 to set up jack in the pulpit and treehugger

Catheys is generally not a great place to top rope since the top access is thick with briars, muddy, and many of the routes would require directionals. That said, agreed with Barret.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
