The Cairngorms have some fine mountain crags, which although easily accessed can feel very remote.
From Edinburgh drive north on the M90 passing Perth, then onto the A9 which is followed all the way up to Aviemore. From Aviemore head East up to the Cairngorms.

A classic route that follows a direct line of cracks up the slabs. Start below the overhangs in the middle of the Central Slabs on a small grassy ledge.
