The area is called Escalada Cachi. Big wall, blocks out any rain when rain comes, good grounds with a pool, bathrooms, wide variety of climbs from 5.6 to 5.12a. The family that owns the area is very nice.

Escalada Cachi is essentially an outdoor climbing gym on natural rock. The name of the business is Escalada Cachi, the site is Piedra de Cachi. It's a vertical basalt cliff with an overhang above. The rock offers terrific friction, which is helpful because though it looks like it's holds everywhere, appearances are deceiving. The routes up to 5.10 are set for toproping, the .10's are toprope or lead, and the harder routes are usually sport only (though they will set a toprope on a couple of .11a's sometimes). It's serious 4WD/high-ground-clearance driving to get all the way down, so you will likely need to park at the top of the road and foot it. (Don't even think of taking a rental car down.) 10-15 min walk, not bad. The family that runs it does a very nice job. Climbing gear is hard to come by in CR, as the import tax makes it 2x as expensive as in the US or Canada. If you have any gear you don't want to haul back home, they will often buy it from you so they can rent it to visitors or locals.
