Buuuuuuurly packs
|
Hey peoples. I'm hoping someone shares my frustration with wimpy packs and has some suggestions for me. Looking for 20-30 liters, ski carry option, no damn zippers, and some burly material like whatever they made the old black diamond hollowpoint out of. Ballistic nylon I think it's called? Thanks ya'll. |

Maybe more zippers than you want but JC will do any mods or customization that you request. https://www.instagram.com/p/BQbSe8YjrWJ/?taken-by=alpine_luddites |

Deuter guide 35+ super burly, with rope strap, ski straps, gear loops and holds modern ice tools it carries a ton and is very comfortable. |

Ozone by Cold Cold World out of Jackson, NH. Doesn't come with ski straps, but you can get them added when you order. Hands down most bomber pack I've ever owned or seen short of a haulbag. Also only costs $105 new. |

Randy Rackliff, the owner of CCW, worked with me 1:1 to customize this pack (size large pack, size small straps, pull down not up straps, and an internal guidebook pocket with keychain). This pack is #1 really lightweight, and #2 VERY burly. This should last my entire climbing career and is my go to rock and ice pack. |

Another vote for Cold Cold World. Picked up a Chernobyl last year, first pack I've been impressed with since my late 90's made in Colorado Osprey. Like Mike said, Randy was great to work with and customized the length for me. |

Many of Randy's packs are 500d or 1000d Cordura which is burly AF but if you wanna go full YOLO he will build you a pack out of Ballistic Nylon (his Ozone model is already made of ballistic). That fabric is like armor. |

Ozone!!! Check out Cold Thistle extensive discussion of the Ozone: http://coldthistle.blogspot.com/2012/05/climbing-packs-part-4.html |

Man I want one of those ozone packs so bad! Almost exactly what I'm looking for. Too big unfortunately. |
