Watch out for the black & whites!

Actually in my experience, MPD doesn't care much if you're buildering here. It's the sheriff that's buggered by it. Which I guess renders my initial comment inaccurate, since MPD are the ones with black & white vehicles. meh.. just be careful. These can be fun problems without police interference, and people using the ped paths & ped bridge seem to enjoy watching others traverse here. I've almost always had a couple people sit or stand for a few minutes to watch us climb.

The Sculptures are actually named "SENTINELS, looking north, summer"

They are part of a city wide project called "Milwaukee, WI Percent for Art Program" from March 2005.

The project was part of the transformation of the Brady Street Bridge, over Lincoln Blvd. into a bike-path bridge, including the construction of a bike ramp up the ridge to Prospect and Brady Streets. Thanks to this project you can not only bike from Brady St. all the way down to the lake shore and park area, but you can also oulder these three monolithic Wausau Rib Mt. Red granite columns

From the Artists: "They were inspired in part by: the ancient Chinese "cong" or "ts'ung tube", symbol of the unity of heaven and earth; by the ancient Egyptian "djed" pillar, which holds up the four corners of the heavens; and by a barn "cider-barrel" door that I saw in Normandy while on a project there."

The Sheriff's Dept is in charge of the City's Parks, so MPD has no care as to what you do on the site (as far as climbing is concerned). I use to hit these up all the time, but recently noticed the sheriff will chase larger groups away- that is, if you look like you are really having fun.

Have visited this location on multiple occasions and haven't had any problems. We had a Parks lady approach us the first time we came "to make sure we weren't defacing the property" but that's the only heat we've received. All in all amazing routes!!!
