Burge North - Hidden Canyon (Tonasket) Rock Climbing
Hidden Canyon from the approach trail.
South facing 200+' tall gneiss crag a couple of miles NE of Burge Mtn (access and climbing all on Forest Service land). Small but wonderfully isolated with rock similar to Burge - yet also taller and steeper with potential for harder routes.
So far there are mostly short routes established on excellent rock.
One big plus; no rattlers, same as at Burge.
From the Tonasket-Havillah Rd turn right onto North Siwash Rd, and follow for 0.2 miles, take the first left (Burge Mtn Rd.) and follow this up 1.55 miles to park at a FS access road with a locked gate (#048) - a total of 14 miles from Tonasket. A gentle 25 minute hike north along this old logging road gets you to the base of the crag (it's a 10 minute hike up the west slope to the top). The best and biggest rock is on the large face left of center, although the most developed is the smaller Hidden Slot on the west end.
Weather station 9.4 miles from here
