Description Suggest change

The small town of Brian Head offers easy access to many outdoor activities. At 10- to 11,000 ft, Brian Head offers plenty of snow for skiing in winter, and a cool escape from the desert heat in summer. Lift-serviced mountain biking, climbing wall for kids, and even a small zip-line are a few of the summer resort-style options in town.

Just out of town you'll find hiking, mountain biking, ATV trails and climbing.

Climbing here is high-elevation and only practical for a short time in the summer/early fall, but its a great place to cool down when temperatures rarely get above 75 F. Watch for thunderstorms coming out of nowhere and plan for cold evenings/mornings even in summer.

Getting There Suggest change

From nouthern Utah take Interstate 15 to exit 75 at Parowan, drive 14 miles up the mountain to Brian Head Resort.

If you are heading up from St. George or Las Vegas access to these crags may be faster and shorter by driving up Cedar Canyon from Cedar City. Take Highway 14 East to Highway 148 (this is also the turn for Cedar Breaks National Monument). Drive through Cedar Breaks (no fee required if you're just driving through) and make a right (east) on Highway 143. The Sport climbing areas are located at various distances down this road.

The Overlook- 4.7 miles to the Sydney Valley Rd (Forest Road 048).

The Running Scared Wall- 5.5 miles to pull off.

The Principality- 13 mile to bunker creek road.
