Yo projecters!

So, I teach social studies to young savages and my summer break is mid-May through mid-June. During that team I am planning to visit the Southwest for the first leg of a road-trip. I am looking for locations and partners for bouldering in the region! I am under the impression that the conditions in Northern AZ are pretty solid during this time of the year. If so, what are some specific places that would be good climbing? Also, what are some others in NM!? I am also taking suggestions for adventures outside of climbing.

Thanks ahead for any help.

That is also a good time of the year to go to the Tramway just outside of Palm Springs. That's even farther southwest than the areas you mentioned but worth considering. BenClimbing

Northern Arizona bouldering will be in great shape. Priest Draw is an obvious choice. Tons of bouldering around Flagstaff Paul Zander

I'm not the best person for info about this but apparently the "new Hueco" is right near Roy in northern NM.

Apparently you can ask the people here for beta and they might be willing to give you some.

Roy is real good, but I wouldn't advise going in the summer months, brutal temps and rattlers and all.
The NM bouldering folks can hook you up with other areas at higher elevations that are great for summer time.

Check out the Ortegas in northern NM. Amazing quartzite at elevations 7000-9000 ft which is fine in the spring and summer. My guidebook New Mexico Bouldering just came out, order it from Owen Summerscales
