The ambience provided by busted beer bottles and spent shotgun casings really adds to the area.

I think the aerial map/photo link provided is a little off. I think it should be 37.3616,-106.2674 but don't hold me to it.

Yep, the GPS coordinates are off. But maybe there is a "Boulder City" at that location in China....

Boulder City offers tons of potential even with the busted beer bottles and shell casings. This is a superb area although the rock will rip you up. Wish it was the Pagosa side of the pass, as I would probably move my yurt out there. Great camping and never crowded. My wife and I have have spent entire weekends developing and repeating some classic boulder problems while having the entire place to ourselves. Having climbed for 31 years, I can say with no doubt this is a true gem in an unlikely location.

This looks awesome. I always figured there should be world-class bouldering in the SLV, but most climbers don't seem to want to go to the trouble.

WOW, can't believe it took me a year to get here - this area is off the charts good.
