Borrow or buy a crash pad near Berkeley, Nov. 26-Dec. 3

I'm going to be visiting my sister and bouldering, mostly at Indian Rock and mostly on weekdays while she's at work. If anyone is interested in selling me a used pad, or lending me their pad for a week, or coming out to climb together, any of those would be great. There is usually a group of people bouldering at Indian or Mortar rock at most times in the afternoon. If you aren't successful in finding someone to lend/sell you one you can be pretty lucky in just showing up and joining whoever else is there. There are also a bunch of fun ground level traverses that don't need a crash pad.

Hey Lundy, usually theres at least one person at Indian Rock (people tend to hang around there and are pretty social) so you can usually use someone else's pad for the higher problems. With that said having a crash pad there isnt crucial IMO. There's a few problems there that a fall could hurt you so take the previous statement with a grain of salt. Also, if you haven't climbed at Indian Rock before recognize that it isn't stellar...yes it was a training ground for some climbers decades ago but now its rather polished. If i were you I'd take the money for a pad and spend it on hitting Bridges (for pure bouldering) or Ironworks for roped climbing and bouldering.

There's an REI at the bottom of the hill that would gladly lend you one for $150 deposit... they're even brand new.

I've got one you can use. It's about 25 minutes east of Berkeley.
Agreed that there are usually others around with a pad at Indian and Mortar Rocks.
pm if interested.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
