Bouldery start keeps the pressure on until the "toe" of the Boot Flake is attained. From the toe of the flake, continue up and left on 5.9+ terrain.

With an attentive belayer/spotter, the start of this route can be bouldered until the off-fingers crack to the left of the Boot Flake is reached. From here, you'll need pro to 1". Boot Licker can also be top roped by scrambling down the hill from the road north of the bridge. A .75" cam can be used as a directional.

TR Variations

"Boot Licker" presents many options after the Boot Flake is reached. Heading up the slab to the left of the original route is 5.10; the large crack to the right is 5.9. Farther right, climbing the face of the boot and above is 5.11+. Trees at the top of the formation can be used for top roping these last two variations.
