crux is at the top section. It's sustained though. I free soloed it. It's the first climb I did at this crag. It's recessed and shaded all day long except the top section. Thin ice and snow to begin with and finishes on thicker ice.
Fletcher Wilson told me that he and some friends did a (WI3) at Garfield in 1981. This is the only (WI3) I am aware of at Garfield, but he didn't verify this climb by my description. His climb probably was in this section.
Climb the narrow runnel east of the Descent Route and past the wall of small icicles and rock. Rappel Descent Route with one 60m rope.
