Big Swing Face has been overlooked by many climbers at High Cliff. But it is become much more popular these days. The reason why it attracts most climbers is because it has a quality that most areas at High Cliff lack-- Overhangness (It's not a word, but you know what I mean). This is a great spot to burn out at the end of the day. The majority of the climbs are complete Jug-hauls.

Getting There

Getting to Big Swing Face is very simple. Follow the directions to get to The West Side. Once you get to the barrier boulders go left. Walk a little ways on the trail until you come to an intersection. To your left will be the Indian Effigy Mounds. To the right will be the access to the climb. Keep heading South down this access. This will bring you right to the base of the climb.

This route starts on a flake just about directly in the middle of the wall. Work you way up and right to the rounded arete. Next, work straight up through a good line of jugs. Power through the amazing move to the rectangular block and finish the top. This route is some peoples favorite route at High Cliff....[more]   Browse More Classics in Wisconsin
