Easy moves past three bolts lead up a featured face to the base of the smooth headwall. Clip the 4th bolt and then head up the steep, smooth face using small but positive crimps that appear just as you need them. After clipping the last bolt head straight up on jugs to finish on a small ledge with anchors. Little spot for a refreshment before heading back to the valley is the Big Bear Mountain Brewery, 40260 Big Bear Blvd, Big Bear Lake (909.866.BEER)

Brewery? The food is overpriced and their brew overrated. If you're looking for good beer and reasonably priced food, head down to La Montana off of Moonridge for happy hour(4-7).
If you must go to the brewery though, check out their Red Ant Hill Ale or Grizzly Bear.

We're just started a little climbing store in Big Bear Valley (Fawnskin area) if y'all ever need anything. Just BD gear and some organic climbing salve for now. No price gouging and 5% of sales goes to clean up the ever more crowded crags like Holcomb!
Little new climbing store in Big Bear.

What's the climbing like at this time of year? Are the crags climbable? What if it snows a few days prior?

Days are short, nights are below freezing and climbing in the sun is a must but the crowds are all gone now to Joshua Tree. Climbing is entirely possible after a snow provided you have 4WD to drive the roads otherwise forget about it.
