Description

This boulder is so named because it is actually two boulder that come out of the ground at an angle to make them look like one massive semi-buried part-way open book.

Both boulders have problems although the far said has most of the lines (6 total I think) that range in grade from V0- squeeze chimney to V6 overhanging finger to hand crack.

Getting There

From the main parking area walk uphill slightly and then cross the road into a poison ivy grove, follow the trail (very little trail) to the boulder which is barely visible from the road.

Samson V3 6A  Connecticut : CT Bouldering : ... : Bible Rock
Start at a right-facing jug fairly high up. Shorter climbers may have to jump to it. Up left to a smallish rail, then a big move to a quartz jug close to the top. Keep it together on the tall but juggy topout....[more]   Browse More Classics in Connecticut

I assume the overhanging finger to hand crack you mentioned is God's Crack. I had heard it to be a sandbagged (like a lot of CT climbs) V3. I would peg it probably at v4 but I'll V6 is acceptable. It's only a #. For me it goes small hands to fists, and the last 2 feet or so of the crack is just off width enough that I can't get any more jams. The difficulty greatly depends on hand size and crack skill.
