This boulder holds some of Vermont's hardest problems, a couple of great mid-grade problems, and The Finn, one of the most beautiful high-ball aretes in New England. Once you lay your eyes on the Finn, you will understand the name of this boulder.

Getting There

At the highest point in the notch is a curve in the road, where the road constricts to navigate around the Shark Fin boulder, which lies right against the eastern edge of the pavement. The B.F.B. lies right across the road from the Shark Fin.

Blunt V11 8A  Vermont : Smuggler's Notch : ... : B.F.B.
A cool line of pinches and underclings up a mildly overhung prow. Start on two good underclings, then slap up to a narrow pinch. More powerful moves lead to a cut out jug up and right, and then a somewhat heinous and grovely top out....[more]   Browse More Classics in Vermont
