Does anyone have info on the routes Sister Seagull and Ultraman? They are located between Mummy and the Daddy. Any beta would be greatly appreciated. Also any info on FA, and if they worth climbing?
Cheers!

Hey Tev,

I just did Sister Seagull a couple months ago. It goes something like this:

The route is located between The Mummy and The Daddy. Head downhill from The Mummy and look for a ramp/flake that goes about 20' up the wall. Crash through the rhoto to get to a small starting ledge about 6' off the ground. Head up the ramp and into the flake--and be delicate with it. From there, head up the face on good but under-traveled horizontals, with good gear availability, towards the next weakness (it'd be very generous to call it a crack) before you get to a large low angle section. Don't quote me on this, but the low angle section is probably around 150' off the ground. From the low angle section, we went up into the wide chimney and followed it until it seemed reasonable to break out left and toward the summit. I don't remember if we summitted AT the top of the Mummy, or still right of it.

After we did it I rechecked it in the Kelley book and his topo seemed to agree with what we did. Hope that helps.

Haven't climbed either, but according to my old Kelley guide

Sister Seagull, 5.7, FA Ralph Fickel and Peter White, June 1979.

Ultraman, 5.10+ R, FA Jim Okel, Tim McMillan, and Lindsay Broome, November 1980.

According to the topos in Selected Climbs, the Seagull is all gear while Ultraman has bolted belays. There is no description, which suggests they don't get a lot of traffic.

Has anyone climbed either of these recently?
