Description

Great winter crag with plenty of sunshine. Great views looking down Devils Canyon. 10+ routes of varying height quality. Mostly sport climbs with a few gear routes mixed in. All single pitch. Established in 1999-2000 by Gary and Bill Burns.

Getting There

Drive on the dirt road north to the power station. Take rough road around power station and continue north on 4X4 road to old campsite/parking area. From here hike the ridgeline towards the devils throne and the canyon. From the devils throne formation start looking for cairns to drop you into the canyon and to the base of the wall. Hike takes 20-30 mins. Buy Marty Karabin's guide to Northern Devils Canyon for a map.

Climbing Season

For the Northern Devils Canyon area.

Interesting climb that starts somewhat awkwardly in beginning but gets much better as the climb goes on. The rock in the upper 2/3rds of the climb seemed surprisingly solid after the breaking up a bunch of loose rock the start. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in Arizona
