Beginner's Slab has short, easy, slab, sport climbing with access to the top for topropes. Four climbs are located on the north west-facing, granite wall. This is a great rock for beginner, sport climbers.

Per Chip Loomis: L->R:

A. Unknown, 6, TR, 2 parallel seams.
B. Devil's Spine aka Bajorn, 7, 1p, 40', bolts or TR.
C. Ferringy, 7, 1p, 40', bolts or TR.
D. Unknown 1, 6, 1p, 40', gear or TR, gully/chimney.
E. Cardassian, 9, 1p, 40', bolts or TR.
F. Unknown, 9?, gear or TR, crack.

Backside of the rock formation:

G. Baby's Got Crack, 10+, 1p, 50', gear.
H. Crack, Baby!, 7, 1p, 50', gear.

Getting There

From the top of Hell hill take the second left continue down until you pass a wall on the left which looks like it has stripes (Tiger Stripe Wall). Make the next left and continue straight, at the top of the hill the rock is located off to the left. It is a small dome of rock that is 30-40 feet tall.

It follows the crystal seam up the watergroove. In my opinion, it is slightly harder than Devil's Spine. Once again, it is a great beginner lead....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado

There are two more routes on the front (six total), southwest-facing face. I don't know what they are rated, though I know that the one second from the right is the hardest.

The route list could use a little organization. There looks to be 6 routes on the front side.

From left to right:
1: Unknown 5.6 (TR). Up two parallel seams .
2: Devil's Spine 5.7 (sport, TR).
3: Ferringy 5.7 (sport, TR).
4: Unknown 1 5.6 (TR). Narrow gully/chimney.
5: Cardassian 5.9 (sport, TR)
6: Unknown 5.9? (TR, trad)Just left of Cardashian up a crack system.

The other two climbs are on the backside of the rock formation (Baby's Got Crack and Crack, Baby!, but what about Turtle Back Crack?

The three sport routes on the front side (Devil's, Ferringy, Cardassian) are only two bolts then anchors. Who needs more than two bolts...because two bolts in heaven are better than one bolt in heaven (sorry, stretch on Flight of the Concord lyrics). The first bolts seem fairly high on all three, but very obtainable for the respective grades
