BETA PHOTO: At the anchors of Bear 5.9-

Description

Fun climbing straight up the slab just right of the presently heavy lichened Bear Crossing. The 4 bolts above the dike seem a little left of the best holds and the natural line so the clips maybe a little awkward. If you lead the route straight up by the bolts it feels 5.9, if you top-rope it and use the better holds to the right it's 5.8.

Location

The climb starts about 40' right of the approach trail just past a large Oak tree below a right slanting dike that passes through mid route.

Protection

8 Bolts. There is a 2 bolt/rings rap anchor.

Glad to see others felt this was a bit harder than the "5.8" given by the current guidebook!

On the face, tenuous moves and a bit of space getting to the last bolt.
