Description Suggest change

There are 2 seperate bouldering areas at the base of this incredible monolith, very near the parking for the Beacon Rock Trail that heads to the top. The North Forest Boulders are the first set of boulders that begin less than 50 yards from the parking area by way of the North Face climbers trail that starts beside the water spigot. The Talus Boulders are located another 100 yards up the Beacon Rock Trail, down a faint trail to the right, as you first begin to gain elevation and before the gated door. These areas are identified in the booklet "Bouldering In Portland And The Columbia River Gorge" by Greg Lyon (published in 2000), with 15 routes identified in the North Forest and 20 routes in the Talus Boulders. The Hamilton Boulders, already listed separately, are also within the state park and combined with the North Forest and Talus Boulders make for a fun day of pebble wrastlin'! I decided to add the bouldering to this MP page instead of the page listed in Oregon because more areas could be added and this section could be built out properly instead of individual routes listed beside the roped routes on Beacon Rock itself.

Getting There Suggest change

Follow the directions listed to the climbers parking/Beacon Rock Trail and then follow directions listed under the above description to each of the boulder areas.
